A renovation of an existing restaurant and patio prominently located alongside a bustling sidewalk at Krog Street Market. The design pulls in equal parts from its post-industrial setting near the Atlanta Beltline, the Mercado de San Miguel in Spain, and the cuisine itself (Spanish tapas). Existing exposed brick, concrete, and steel are softened by added layers of wallcovering, fabrics, paint, artwork, and lighting in a variety of playful colors and patterns to evoke the sensory experience of a Spanish market. The restaurant entrance is defined by warm neon signage which playfully wraps around steel panels at one side, and a new weathering steel barrel vaulted canopy structure at the sidewalk.
