40,000sf of renovation to the public spaces of an atrium hotel in Washington, D.C. The renovation is punctuated by a dramatic +100-foot tall custom crystal chandelier. The installation is suspended from the existing atrium structure, and is programmed along with 36 crystal wall sconces to create the effect of a cascading waterfall. A cantilevered zebrawood wall receives the chandelier and is detailed to emphasize the feel of water rippling down its ridged surface. A stone stair curves along the face of the wall and reflects the light of the chandelier in its glass railings, which swoop continuously around the atrium opening.
